Edinburgh Cancer Research was established in 1979 and is a centre dedicated to basic, translational and clinical cancer research.
Edinburgh Cancer Research brings together cancer scientists and clinicians from across the University of Edinburgh, delivering outstanding cancer research and improved patient care. The scientific and technological expertise at Edinburgh Cancer Research results in new therapies being developed for patients faster. Edinburgh Cancer Research focuses on tumours with clinical/translational emphasis mainly colorectal cancer, women’s cancers (breast, ovarian and endometrial) and brain cancer.
Edinburgh Cancer Research plays a key role in the NHS care of Scottish cancer patients, through the collaborative partnership with Edinburgh Cancer Centre and NHS Lothian to support clinical trials and cancer informatics research.
