Sarcoma Accelerator responsibilities
Professor Brunton is a Principal Investigator at the Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre where she leads a group studying the role of adhesion protein signalling in cancer progression. Her team look at ways of exploiting these pathways to develop new therapeutic approaches, with a focus on breast, sarcoma and brain tumours. As part of the Sarcoma Accelerator, she leads on the development of immunocompetent autochthonous models for use in testing potential new single agent and combination therapies. Her group are also working with patient-derived xenograft models to establish ex vivo tissue slices as a complementary drug testing platform.
